FINAL PASSAGE OF THE DAILY PROPHET: YOUR HARRY POTTER GUIDE

During the month of July, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliff), Ron Weasely (Rupert Grint), and Hermonie Granger (Emma Watson) took their final life risking adventure to find the Horcruxes to defeat Lord Voldermort in the final movie of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. This concluding movie involved romance between Hermonie and Ron, war with the followers of Lord Voldermort, the death eaters, and best of all a scene in which they showed the gang 15 years later. Junior Shahanna Islam says,” I loved Harry Potter Part 2-Deathly Hallows because it was amazing, and the conclusion of the most amazing movie series ever known to man.”

It had a box office of $43.5 million on its opening night and $168.6 million for the weekend. It became a sold-out show in almost all theaters in the US. One reason for such high profit may be due to the screening in IMAX 3-D, which adds a couple extra bucks to the ticket prices. But still, it was hit. Freshman Samiha Nazrul says, “The special affects that got added due to these circumstances made the movie phenomenal. It made it seem as I was actually in the movie.” And to make this explicit screening even more special, midnight attending audience got a special pair of Harry Potter 3-D glasses to keep. The limited edition 3D glasses were replicated to look like Harry’s glasses with “Harry Potter” engraved on the side. Harry Potter fans that went to the midnight screening at Universal got an even more special surprise. After they saw the movie at the theater there, the audience got a free entry into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, located in Universal Studios.

Overall, the movie has been the most successful among all the eight Harry Potter movies that have been released. This movie was filled with all types of emotions with a ton of humor and adventure. This has also been a tear-jerker; some tears were happy tears from the success the gang had on their adventures, and some sad tears due to the end of the Harry Potter series. Sophomore Tahira Tasnim shares that she shed a few tears “when Snape died because it was just really heartrending” and “when Snape was crying over Lilly.” The first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, came out in 2001; this movie series has been going on for 10 years. But no worries Harry Potter fans, JK Rowling, the author, has come up with a solution for that. She has made a website called Pottermore.com dedicated to the series. It will officially open in October.
