FUN FASHION TRENDS TO START SCHOOL

FUN+FASHION+TRENDS+TO+START+SCHOOL

Although starting school again may be something most students do not look forward to, one exciting aspect is the back-to-school shopping. This season there are many new trends that students should keep in mind while looking for new clothes.

DENIM
Denim seems to never go out of style and currently there seems to be a denim epidemic, everything from jeans to jackets and ever dresses look great in this fabric. The greatest part about denim is that it comes in a bunch of different styles so you’re not stuck wearing your typical jeans every day. Bleached and neon skinny jeans make any dull outfit pop and either one would make a nice outfit if worn with a solid colored shirt. While skinny jeans look great, sometimes squeezing into them at five in the morning can be a hassle so for a more comfortable feel, the loose fitting boyfriend jeans are perfect and still super cute. Now let’s face it, it can get way too hot to wear long pants every day so cropped jeans can be the perfect substitute since they hit a few inches above your ankles. “I love wearing cropped jeans, especially when it’s too cold to wear shorts but too hot to wear tight skinny jeans,” says sophomore Annie Grant.

PATTERNS
Tribal patterns are very in so whether on a backpack or cute shirt this is definitely shopping-list worthy and when paired with cute jeans, this makes a fantastic outfit for the new school year. Junior Jessica Farr says, “I really like tribal patterns because they’re so fun and colorful.” Plaid is also a great trend as long as there isn’t any plaid overload; a cute plaid shirt or backpack is a great way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe. This year is all about the floral, this great pattern looks good on everyone and the colorful outfit is bound to lift the spirits of the dull first days of school. Another chic style is thin stripes but if too many are incorporated into an outfit, it may make some people dizzy.

COLORS
This season, bright colors are in and shoes are no exception. Bright sneakers can spruce up any outfit and are very comfortable when walking from class to class. Patent flats are great because they’re made of a super shiny material which makes brightly colored flats even better. An anonymous junior says, “I love wearing [patent flats] with a cute pair of jeans.” When looking for comfort and practicality, moccasins are the way to go. These cute shoes look amazing with almost any outfit and can add an “updated-preppy edge” according to Seventeen magazine. While shopping for shoes, one thing to keep in mind is that comfort is key. Walking to seven different classes a day can be a difficult task while wearing shoes that hurt more and more with every step.

While being trendy is great, don’t forget that Seminole High School has a strict dress code in place which is something that everyone should keep in mind while shopping for back-to-school clothes.
