First Pep Rally
With the start of the school year just beginning, this means it is time for the beloved football season! To kick off this season’s first home game of the year, the first pep rally of the school year was held on Friday, August 22nd. Both the game and pep rally shared the annual theme of aloha and hawaiian attire, shown in the way the gym was decorated with an inflatable aloha arch for the football team to run through and leis given by leadership as you enter, making sure nobody had an excuse not to be decked out in aloha attire!
As students from all different grades filed into the gym, our Dazzlers were busy with their first performance of the rally, filling the gym with loud, upbeat music. After everyone settled into each of their own sections, leadership made sure to hype up each grade level and group with the cheers of pop see ko. Following this was the first game of tic-tac-toe, though this time turned into a relay. Students had to race up to the taped lines and place their leis in a box in order to claim it. They then had to race back and tag their teammates. The first team to place three leis in a row wins! For the first pep rally, juniors won this game and as for the second pep rally seniors won the game.
After the first game, junior varsity dazzlers performed a new routine! This was followed by a cheer performance and then a varsity dazzler performance. Next was the second game which was blindfolded musical tubes. Contestants are blindfolded and then spun until the music stops. They then have to remain blindfolded and have to find a floatie to sit on, fast! The last student to sit down is disqualified from the next round, and so on until we have a winner! One representative from each grade was chosen to participate. In the first pep rally, seniors won the game while in the second pep rally sophomores won. Then was drumlines show and welcome to the tribe performance. Ending off the pep rally, students gathered in the middle as music played and headed back to class or dismissal.
This pep rally was such a great way to start off the school year, and we can’t wait to see you guys at the next one. As always, GO NOLES!
Second Pep Rally
At the second pep rally, freshman students made the trek all the way to main campus from the Ninth Grade Center to attend. The pep rally started off with our Leadership team handing out leis at the doors, ensuring everyone was showing their aloha spirit!
Students from every grade streamed into the gym and the energy was already high thanks to the Dazzlers, who kicked off the rally with their first performance. Their moves and the upbeat music set the perfect tone!
For our Aloha Pep Rally, Leadership brought in some fresh and fun games. The first challenge was a giant game of tic-tac-toe! Students had to sprint to the taped grid, place their lei in a square, then race back to tag their teammate.
Next up was blindfolded musical tubes, a game that had the whole crowd laughing. Contestants were blindfolded, spun around, and then had to scramble to find an inflatable floatie to sit on when the music stopped. The slowest player was out each round until one winner was left standing! !
To end of the pep rally all students gathered in the center of the gym singing our Seminole High School alma mater. Thereafter, all students headed out the gym for dismissal and the start of their weekend.
This rally was an amazing way to kick off the school year, and we loved seeing all the spirit in the gym. We can’t wait to see you at the next one. !
