CATCHING FIRE SPARKS EXCITEMENT

One of history’s record-holding movies, The Hunger Games, opened to a whopping $155 million at the box office in 2012. Students around Seminole have been buzzing with anticipation in wait for the arrival of the sequel Catching Fire. The flick hits the big screen November 22, 2013.

Junior Austin Christy was quick to share his excitement over the movie. “Jennifer Lawrence is attractive and a really talented actress,” he said.

The last movie followed the plot of the book with only a few minor changes. For those who have read the books themselves, they can expect to see what the book has written about the story. They can also see the director’s interpretation of the book.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing all the special effects and I hope the movie follows the storyline of the book,” said junior Rachel Jankech.

The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark. In the movie Katniss and Peeta become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem.

“I’m excited to see who will die and if Katniss chooses Gale or Peeta,” said sophomore Ana Inistra.

In a recent poll over 50% of students said that they would go to the see the movie. Another poll stated that 44% said they were more excited to see Katniss, 33% voted for Peeta, and 25% said they wanted to see Gale.

Many new characters including Johanna, Mason, Beetee, Wiress, Brutus, Enobaria, Gloss, and Cashmere will appear in the new film. They will be playing all of the previous victors from the last tournaments.

Junior Ayanna Thompson said, “The first movie was so good, have you not seen it?” when asked if she would see Catching Fire.
