In the age of the internet, fashion has never consistently changed as fast as it does now. A trend that came out yesterday may already be labeled as played out by next week. Because of constant exposure to social media, it’s easy to miss microtrends- the one-off, short lived fads that get a sudden boost in popularity every few years. They’re hard to find in stores, yet somehow seen on Instagram in every influencer’s post. Here’s a list of the best current microtrends you might’ve missed.

YEEZY GAP YR 3022 SHDZ are shield-like sunglasses that are completely reflective. Created by Kanye West, the shades add a bold, futuristic look to an outfit. While these are not out to the general public yet, multiple high-profile stars have already been seen wearing their own pair. Reflective visors were a theme in the 2009 Jean Paul Gaultier couture show, but Kanye’s take on them added a modernized, new look. They are expected to be a more upcoming staple soon, as more brands are pulling inspiration from West’s work to sell similar versions to their own buyers.

CROCHET TOPS are a common piece of clothing item that comes around just before every fall season. Although this year, there has been an increase in people making their own tops after learning how to crochet, and posting how-to tutorials for others to see. They are made in a net-like form that’s see-through, generally worn as a statement piece, with a plain tank top or opposing colored shirt underneath. It’s perfect for the shift between summer to fall, with the long-sleeved top thin enough for airflow.

VINTAGE VIVIENNE WESTWOOD NECKLACES have their trademark Saturn-shaped diamond-studded charm with a cross symbol attached to the top. The sterling silver necklace first came out in 1987, and their popularity dwindled over the decades. Accounts with large followings dedicated to archived fashion pieces on social media had viral posts of the chains, causing a resurgence in their marketability.
