FOX 35 AT SEMINOLE FOR FOOTBALL GAME OF THE WEEK

FOX 35 AT SEMINOLE FOR FOOTBALL GAME OF THE WEEK

Friday October 27th, FOX 35 featured the Seminole v. Lake Mary game as their game of the week!

This highlight, known as Football Friday, showcases different schools and football programs throughout the central Florida area. This week Seminole High School (SHS) was chosen to be featured in their “High School Sports” column and was presented the opportunity to demonstrate their school spirit on live television! This is a tremendous honor and achievement for SHS, allowing us to be recognized for our outstanding athletic department, one-of-a-kind school pride, and our excellent team of students and faculty who all contributed and were involved in this privilege. It was definitely a memorable moment for students and staff.

The news anchor and morning reporter for Good Day Orlando, Morgan Parrish, was accompanied by a cameraman and had been interviewing Mr. Pfiffer and showcasing the different aspects of Seminole pride.

She states that FOX 35 selected SHS because “we [FOX 35] knew that this was gonna be a big game and we know that you guys are a great school. We were excited to visit Seminole because we knew that you guys were gonna bring all the energy today.”

And she was exactly right! FOX 35 was broadcasting live from SHS in the New Gym from 7am-10am. Accompanied with them was the football team, cheerleaders, dazzlers, the Pride of the Tribe, Leadership, Black Student Union, and our very own administrators. During their segments of live broadcasting, each group had an opportunity to be featured. There was a strict schedule for all of the group highlights, so everyone had to be timely and precise with their performances. It was a great time— the band was chanting and playing the Seminole anthem, the cheerleaders were cheering, and the student section was getting the crowd really riled up. The broadcasting was sent all throughout the greater Orlando area, so we definitely reached an extensive audience. There was a wonderful sense of community and school spirit, and we did a great job of conveying that through the camera and onto the televisions of our friends and family.

A big thanks to FOX 35 and everyone here at SHS who helped put this together. It’s been a great season so far, so let’s keep that up. Hope you all enjoyed the pep rally today, and good luck to our football team tonight in the game against Lake Mary! Go Noles!
