After winter break unfortunately comes to an end, it’s time to push through the final stretch of the year, which is known as the second semester. For the students and staff at Seminole, the second semester can get quite busy and overwhelming, but for every stressful event, there’s a fun one right behind it.
In February, for Valentine’s Day, the school sells Teddy Grahams and roses for that special someone in your life. Make sure to show them the appreciation that they deserve while supporting your fellow Noles.
The Black History show will take place sometime in February. Be sure to keep an eye out for the official date. There will be performances from the Gospel Choir, jazz band, and much more to look forward to.
For seniors, it’s a very busy time of the year. Senior week will be from March 31–April 4. Grad bash will be on April 25th at Universal Orlando. And of course, the most important one of all, graduation, will be on May 28 at the Addition Financial Arena at 2 pm.
Prom is the most anticipated night of the school year for juniors and seniors. It will be on Saturday, April 5th, so make sure to buy your tickets as soon as they go on sale. You do not want to miss out on an amazing night filled with dancing, friends, and memories to be made.
Some sports that go on during the second semester include soccer, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, softball, and more. These sporting events are always a fun experience, so be sure to gather your friends or family to help cheer on and support the Noles.
The spring musical production will be Sweeney Todd. The theater productions never disappoint and are perfect to see with family and friends. The date hasn’t been announced yet, so make sure to keep a look-out in order to purchase tickets to see an amazing show.
There are many tests that will be taken at the end of the school year. The end of course exams (EOCs) will take place during May. AP exams, which are very important in order to earn college credit for the AP course you have taken, typically start during the end of April through the beginning of May. For the upperclassmen, the SATs will also occur. Make sure to study hard and try your best to get a good score in order to increase the possibilities of attending your dream college.
There’s a lot to look forward to for the upcoming semester, so make sure to stay on top of your studies and work while also saving some time for some fun activities and events that Seminole has to offer.
