SONY RELEASES PS4 DETAILS

The last time Sony released a gaming console to the world was on November 11, 2006. Now it is 2013. Earlier this year Sony held a huge press conference to announce something to catapult the company back up to the top. Obviously something gaming related, the successor to the PS3, the appropriately named PS4.

This gaming console is to be a very welcomed addition to the Sony gaming family. Everything that is expected to be upgraded in this new machine is. It includes better graphics, more memory, updated software, new look, and of course new games.

One of the most noticeable upgrades is the RAM. It is the amount of memory a computer can be given in order to run its programs. It is now 15 times more powerful than before.

Whenever something new comes, the same design to the console isn’t expected either. The console itself has a completely new design, and it comes packaged with the brand new Dual Shock 4 controller, and a headset.

Junior Kayla Menendez said, “I like the new design because it’s a parallelogram.”

The controller has a few new features compared to its older counterpart, the Dual Shock 3. One key new feature is the touch pad, right in the middle of the controller, that will add a richer gaming experience. The new touch pad is out to add new mechanics to be experimented with while playing a variety of games. More information about how the touch pad will be integrated is to be released soon.

Sophomore Ryan O’Donnell said, “I like the fact that they added the screen, and it’s not the same old thing.”

The headset, which comes with the system, is also for anyone to feel connected to the social aspect of gaming right off the bat.

More is yet to be revealed about Sony’s new console, but it does have a set price of $400. Although that may seem like a lot of money just think about all that is included with the system. Expect it to hit stores this fall.
