Grab your caps and get ready, the 2024-2025 school year is officially coming to a close, and seniors are feeling all the emotions. The class of 2025 is getting ready to say goodbye to the place they’ve considered home for the past four years. All of the memories, bonds and classmates are getting left behind on May 15th, so get your tissues ready. In this article, we’ll talk about how some seniors are feeling about this and what’s happening as the year closes.
Teachers and staff have watched these students grow from scared young ninth graders into confident young adults. Many expressed a mix of pride and sadness as they prepared to see their seniors off. Still, saying goodbye is not an easy thing to do. They are leaving behind their best friends, favorite teachers, and the routines that have formed their daily lives for the past four years. The last days are filled with “lasts” with things like last classes, last games, and last walks through the hallways they’ve made so many memories in. SHS senior Orion Gaine said this “ I have made so many good memories outside of school, but honestly I can’t wait to make memories outside of school too. I play sports and want to make music, and I feel like in school that kind of stuff is really stunted with what ability I have to pursue it. To the next class, I hope your senior year is filled with as much fun as our classes were, good luck!”
From freshman orientation to senior prom, the past four years have been filled with unforgettable moments. This graduating class has weathered a lot from adapting to new learning styles during the pandemic to leading school events, clubs, and sports teams. Along the way, they’ve shown resilience, creativity, and leadership.
As the seniors walk across the stage on May 28th, with their gowns on, caps ready, and diplomas in hand, they leave behind a legacy at Seminole High School (SHS).They’ve set an example for the underclassmen, built traditions, and shaped the culture of the school.
Graduation is more than just a fun ceremony, it is a showcase of all the hard work and determination they have put in through their high school career. This ceremony works as a transition from one point in their life to another. SHS senior Zoe Neveu said “I have been waiting for graduation since I started high school, but now that it’s here I’m feeling really sad about it. I’m gonna miss all of the friends I’ve made in high school, and my sport (lacrosse), and really just everything about it. Now I am going to have to find a new daily routine outside of this school, but I think I can do it! I’m really excited for a new chapter in my life, but kind of sad to be closing this one. I hope all my friends have fun with the rest of high school and I can’t wait to support them with everything that they do. But anyways, let’s just see what this world has for me I guess!”
To the Class of 2025, thank you for your spirit, your leadership, and all of the memories you have made. Though you may be departing from these halls, you’ll always be a part of the Seminole High School family. Go forward with courage, chase your dreams, and remember once a Nole, always a Nole.
Congratulations, graduates. Your future is limitless, good luck in your future endeavors. Remember to be safe and do what you feel is right as you step outside of your high school for the last time.
