The Friday before homecoming, October 17th, Seminole hosted the annual homecoming pep rally to celebrate! Though this time it was a little different, with a longer run time and even more activities!
As students entered, a new addition was checking students’ Minga IDs for entry. Once they made it in, they were greeted by a foggy atmosphere with a DJ and band performance while dazzlers danced to the music. With everyone settled in, leadership began the Popsico remix song for all grade levels and groups in attendance. Following that was the lettermen and football team running out across the gym to hype the student body up for the game that night.
Since it’s the homecoming pep rally, all of the homecoming court members were introduced and ran across the gym as students cheered. This year introduced a new tradition of including freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in being able to be a part of the court. However, only seniors can win homecoming king and queen. After these introductions, the step team gave a hype performance for students. Next came a junior varsity dazzler performance as well as a junior varsity cheer team performance. After the two JV performances, varsity cheer performed, then came the varsity dazzler performance.
The game for this pep rally did not include students, but instead some of our favorite teachers! With the lights turned off, teachers split into teams of two. This time, the teachers were in inflatable costumes, such as ducks, unicorns, and bears, and participated in a relay race. A teacher from each team would spin in circles until told to go, then had to run to a chair and around it before running back and tagging the next teacher to continue.
After the game, our drumline and band did their performance, along with the Welcome to the Tribe chant. To end the pep rally, students gathered in the middle, singing our school’s alma mater.
Though the football season is coming to an end, this does not mean the end for pep rallies.
Stay tuned for the awaited spring sports pep rally as well!
Go Noles!
