We’re back again Noles! We had our last home game of the season against Hagerty Friday night leaving the score at 27-24. Each player did their best on the field, dodging players left and right and it was a close game but our Noles persevered through it all. It was a special nigh for seniors in Bokey as we had senior night for our Junior Varsity and Varsity dazzlers as well as for our band members. It was a very emotional night for us all but that did not stop the cheering in the crowd.
Let’s focus into the highlights of the game from last night! We have Markel Barber, junior, using his talented abilities to score touchdowns for the past few weeks! Markel shares “I thought Friday night’s game was really good overall, just a few small things we need to clean up. My goals were to win and get in the end zone, and I was glad to make that happen. Over the last few games we’ve been playing really well as a team.” Barber has showed so much dedication to his team and tries his best every time on the fields. “Scoring touchdowns consistently feels great, but I try not to get too caught up in the stats. Things I can improve by just staying focused and staying consistent, reading the field better, and finding little ways to make my game more complete each week.”
We also have Anthony Gay lll, senior, running over 60 yard, scoring touchdowns with so much ease. On Friday night’s game Gay had three rushing touchdowns carrying the weight of the team on his shoulders. At one point Gay had run 55 yards completing a pass from Jeysen Williams. Anthony has a future in front of him and excels every time on the field. Gay shares “The win felt good, watching my family struggle and still having good spirits is my motivation. God blessed me with this talent, and I just want to use it the right way and to the best of my ability to make life better for the people I love and make sure they don’t have to live through struggle. That’s what drives me to keep going.” “I’ve been playing football for 14 years and over the time the game has taught me to remain humble and keep working and that nothing is guaranteed you have to earn every yard and every moment. It also taught me discipline, and how to handle adversity. So to me it’s more than a game, it’s built my character.”
Our last home game of the season was definitely intriguing and brought so much excitement to everyone. Our seniors definitely soaked up their last moments on the field as well.
Well done Noles, it was a great season!
