Panda Fest is in the area, celebrating Asian Culture, foods, and community in Orlando FL. This event took place from February 27 through March 1st. The three-day event invites visitors to explore the rich flavors and traditions of Asia through a lively outdoor festival experience. With more than 80 food vendors serving over 200 Asian street food dishes, along with cultural performances, art demonstrations, and panda themed attractions, Panda Fest offers a colorful weekend filled with entertainment, discovery, and delicious bites for guests of all ages.
The food at the Panda Festival is one of the most exciting and memorable parts of the event. As visitors walk through the festival, they are greeted by the delicious smells of freshly cooked dishes coming from colorful food stalls and booths. There is a wide variety of foods inspired by Asian cuisine, allowing people to try both familiar favorites and new flavors. Guests can enjoy savory foods from East Asian cultures like China, where food like dumplings filled with meat or vegetables, steaming bowls of noodles, fried rice, crispy spring rolls, fluffy bao buns, and grilled skewers were available at food vendors. Japanese food such as sushi tacos, crispy cracker octopus, and taiyaki were also there. Some famous Korean street food such as pork belly bao buns, korean corn dogs, cheese pull corn was found at vendors.
There was also food from regions such as Southeast Asia where countries like Vietnam served food like bành xéo and vietnamese can cakes. Filipino vendors served food like inihaw, kakianin. Food vendors from Malaysia and Thailand served food like Thai tea toast, mango sticky rice ice cream, and satay grilled chicken with peanut dipping sauce. There were also regions like South Asia at the fest, where vendors served famous street food like pav baji, pani puri, and many other famous foods.
According to Aaliya Lakha, an IB sophomore who shares how the food tasted at the Panda fest says that ” the food served at Panda Fest was amazing, I loved trying out food from different cultures.” Showing that not only were there multiple vendors selling various food, but the food also has delicious rich flavors.
The event went beyond the amazing food that was offered, as Panda fest offers a dynamic cultural experience that highlights the diversity of different Asian countries’ traditions. Guests who visited were able to experience amazing cultural performances featuring traditional music and dances and interact with locals to understand different cultures. Some students across Seminole High school were able to attend this interactive Ariana Das, an IB sophomore shares her experience at the fest “ I love the fest. It was very exciting because I got to experience many different traditions in all one place with unique cultures. Being able to see these unique traditions helped me appreciate the diversity across the country.” This highlights how amazing the experience is for students, and gives them a chance to learn about different cultures while enjoying the cultural events from Asia.
To sum it up, Panda fest leaves visitors thinking more about different Asian cultures while enjoying their delicious food and amazing cultural displays that help students learn more and understand different cultures across the world. Not only that but they first brought together Asian immigrants and Asian Americans together to come and enjoy their culture and heritage. As the fest comes to an end the message is clear: the panda fest is an amazing place to have fun and change the views of Asian culture for people unfamiliar with it.
