Our Noles took a big win on Friday night against Lake Brantley leaving the score at 43-21. Our players last night claimed our field and played their hardest. They were persistent on this win and definitely succeeded. Each player injured or not put their full heart on the field and the coaches showed their care for the success of our football team. Not only did our Noles win against the undefeated Lake Brantley, it was senior night as well! On Friday night, we dedicated a night to our seniors to commemorate all their memories here at Seminole High School. Tears were shed and smiles were shared but the memories that were made can never be replaced.
Our Bokey football team has an amazing head coach, Coach Calhoun, helping them succeed not only in high school but for their future for whatever each player may pursue. Calhoun says “ I’m proud of these guys for showing up every day and giving effort. It’s not the start we wanted, but we’re looking to rebound and have a good string of games this week because the district games are coming up, which are very important. I am just hoping these guys can reflect and build on what we know we can do.” Thanks to our head coach always believing in his team our team has hade some consistent wins these past few weeks.
Some highlights of the game was #6 J’len Chaplin making some unpredictable moves on the field, leading to numerous touchdowns and running more than 40 yards Friday night. Then we had Milton Roebuck, catching the ball, intercepting Lake Brantley which led the next play to be a touchdown.
Rasheem Turner Jr., senior and one of the captains shares his tactics for the game “Just keeping a clear mind and just being there for my players on my side of the ball and being the energy ball on the side of the defense” are some of the ways Turner keeps the score high for our Bokey team. Rasheem Turner has made a big difference this year on and off the field as a leader.
Well done Noles we did it again and left our crowd giving a standing ovation. See you guys next week against our rivals, the Lake Mary Rams!
Go Noles!
