As we settle into the school year and winter comes upon us – senioritis may be kicking in for many students at Seminole High- we finally have some definite dates for our seniors! The county has released the long-awaited lineup of senior events for the Class of 2026. The announcements mark the beginning of the end for this year’s seniors, who are now officially counting down the weeks until they walk across the stage at the University of Central (UCF’s) Florida’s Addition Financial Arena. Between celebration weeks, academic ceremonies, and major deadlines, this year’s seniors have a busy and meaningful final stretch ahead.
For most students, the first priority is the cap and gown deadline. Each senior is required to purchase the official graduation attire through Herff Jones Orlando, with no exceptions, including old gowns from past students. The school emphasizes that being “cleared to walk” at graduation requires this purchase. The minimum “Essentials Package,” which includes the cap, gown, tassel, and the mandatory UCF graduation fee, is priced at $105, including tax. However, seniors have only until February 1 before the price increases by $20, making preorders strongly encouraged. Those who place their orders in advance will receive their graduation items during Senior Week in April!
The spring events officially begin on April 17 with Grad Bash, a tradition many seniors look forward to. Participation in Grad Bash, like many of the senior events, is limited to students who meet the school’s Good Standing requirements.
A student in good standing has no active detentions or credit denial.
Just a few days later, from April 20–24, Seminole High will host Senior Week, a themed week dedicated to celebrating the Class of 2025. Senior Week typically includes dress-up days, special activities, and opportunities to connect with classmates. Caps and gowns will also be distributed this week.
On April 25, the energy shifts toward one of the most anticipated nights of high school: Prom! As with other events, students must be in Good Standing to attend, and the school encourages students to stay on top of attendance, behavior, and academic expectations as the date approaches.
Academic celebrations take center stage the following week. The Honor Graduates Ceremony on April 27 will recognize the school’s highest-achieving seniors. Invitations for this event are based on strict GPA guidelines, with no rounding permitted. For the Class of 2025, the criteria remain:
- Summa Cum Laude: 4.000+
- Magna Cum Laude: 3.800–3.999
- Cum Laude: 3.600–3.799
Once April concludes, seniors enter the final stretch. All throughout May, with specific dates to be announced, several important events will take place, including Senior Clearance Day, Seniors’ Last Day, and most importantly, Graduation. The ceremony will be held at the Addition Financial Arena at UCF, though the exact date and time remain pending until the county finalizes its announcement.
A common thread running through all senior events is the requirement of being a student in Good Standing. This status determines whether a senior may participate in Grad Bash, Senior Week, Prom, honor ceremonies, and even graduation itself. The school states that eligibility can be revoked at any time based on behavior, attendance, and academic performance, so make sure you have all the credits necessary to graduate, and you stay on top of attendance!
As the Class of 2025 prepares to close this chapter, the coming months will be filled with excitement, reflection, and celebration. From the thrill of Prom to the honor of academic recognition and the emotion of Graduation Day, Seminole High’s seniors are entering one of the most memorable seasons of their high-school journey.
Good luck Noles!
