 Nicholas Wilde and Judy Hopps are back on the case in Zootopia, solving one of their biggest crimes yet.

Fans have awaited the release of the second movie  since 2016! It has been almost 9 years, and the anticipation has grown.  This new movie focuses on reptiles that once had a home beneath Zootopia, but it was buried under the snow tundra habitat created by the Lynx family. Judy and Nick work alongside Gary and later known traitor Pawbert who raises the stakes of uncovering the truth of the reptilian civilization. The discovery raises concerns for the team as many of the residents would not believe the truth as Nick and Judy were already on the run from the police. At the end of the movie, after the end credits, Disney threw in a small cliffhanger with a feather floating down on Judy’s windowsill. Fans are expecting the next movie to involve winged animals because of this end credit. 

Judy and Nick’s relationship deepens throughout the sequel, after becoming partners in the first movie. Although the case becomes extremely dangerous as they were on the hunt from the police, their bond strengthens. Aside from being totally different biased and despised species, especially Nick, their friendship shows how two opposite personality characters can be the best duo out there. The new reptilian trying to uncover the dark secret about his ancestors is introduced as Gary. Many viewers have mentioned how he looks like Mr.Snake from the movie Bad Guys.

The animators and directors also have thrown in many creative references in the movie such as the kitchen scene when Judy and Nick are on the hunt for Gary and pass by a lion who is revealed to have a rat on his head under a chef hat just like Ratatouille! They also incorporated funny wordplay into common brands and companies that people see or use in their everyday life. While Nick was chilling at home, fans noticed instead of Hulu: he was watching Huluzoo. The shows he was planning on watching also included: Star Roars (Star Wars), Piggity Falls (Gravity Falls), and many more. 

With perfect hidden easter eggs, character development, and a new reptile family addition to the land, Zootopia 2 is a great watch for adventure lovers! With the cliffhanger end scene and new lore about the origins of Zootopia, fans are eager to see what the next movie brings.
