As Seminole High students settle into the new year and new semester, SHS Lead put on an amazing pep rally to celebrate our Winter Sports team. Once all the students settled into their sections, this pep rally’s theme became apparent: The freshmen wore yellow, sophomores wore green, juniors wore red, and seniors wore blue.
Next came out the sports introduction of boys basketball and girls basketball with a special shoutout to senior Narelis Torres who scored one thousand points over her four years playing for Seminole High School, then boys soccer, girls soccer, the wrestling team, and another special shoutout to the competition cheer team which is going to states for the first time in Seminole history.
Let the games begin! The first game was tug of war, freshman vs sophomores and juniors vs seniors. The sophomore and seniors both won their respective rounds, and cheers erupted all throughout the senior section.
The second game was the spirit stick, and while juniors took this win over the seniors, the class of 2026 later reclaimed it by showing up and showing out at the second pep rally!
With the second pep rally bringing the freshmen, the coordinated color scheme planned out by leadership looked even more complete. With everyone in the stands, leadership began their Popsico remix song for everyone there.
Once the sports introductions were over, the second pep rally had a different performance come next, that being from the step team. Next was the winter guard performance again followed by performances from both junior varsity and varsity dazzlers.
For the second pep rally game of tug of war, the first round was freshmen vs sophomores, with the sophomores taking the win! Next was juniors vs seniors, with juniors winning. Because there was no tie breaker, both teams were considered winners.
When the spirit stick came out, each grade gave it their all by screaming and shouting as loud as they came. It was a close call between freshmen and seniors, but in the end the spirit stick was given to the class of 2026 seniors! With time running out, drum line ended it off while students began heading towards dismissal. As students filed out of the gym, one thing was clear: with winter sports in full swing, Seminole spirit is ready to carry the rest of the season forward.
GO NOLES!
